video games in LÖVE2D

these are all little more than ideas as i know next to nothing about game development.... but i wanted to try anyway <3

battle nodes

an incredibly simplistic battle simulator that came to me in a dream – the idea is to stockpile money and soldiers in order to capture enemy nodes, and you win when all nodes on the map belong to you.

(the actual game probably will not look much better lol)

it's nothing particularly special or original but the goal is to learn lua / LÖVE in preparation for the game i actually want to make...

luminara: dream boutique

style savvy players know what i'm talking about!!!!!!!!!!

but if you haven't played style savvy – first of all it's an amazing series for NDS and 3DS if you're into fashion or women, the first one is definitely the best and the visual style is incredibly cute and you should play it!!! – the series is a cross between a dress-up game and a shop management simulator. in each game you run a fashion boutique and serve customers who come in with requests for clothing items or entire outfits, based on their fashion sense and your expertise, as well as having conversations and building relationships with the characters over time.

luminara: dream boutique is (intended as!) an affectionate mini-reproduction of the original style savvy formula with a slightly more mature tone: you're an employee in the lingerie section of the clothing store from the first game, called luminara in this version, listening to customers' stories and offering personalized recommendations based on their requests.

underlying concepts for development

to try to explain the sort of atmosphere i'm trying to create, and what i enjoy about style savvy that i'd like to see in another, newer game..

maturity
i know the target demo for style savvy is somewhat young, but the first game has a certain maturity or realism that i definitely prefer to the later installments. imo it speaks to a higher respect for the player – despite the technical shallowness of the writing, the characters feel remarkably grounded, like real women with real lives and jobs you might meet while in public in a way that's honestly refreshing compared to the near-cartoonish caricatures of later games. high-quality writing is definitely a priority in making a style savvy-type game of my own.
and yes this is why it's set in a lingerie store. no other reason...
diversity
particularly when it comes to the player character – i'd like to include more options for gender, body type and size, hair texture, things like binders and top surgery scars etc etc. while the game is set in a women's clothing store the customers won't necessarily all be women. just most of them lol

all this sounds cool i know. i'm making myself excited just by talking about it but! i am only one person. so hopefully. someday. i'll make it...
